Privacy Policy

Craft Cloud, a company registered in England and Wales [REVIEW: legal form, company number and registered address] is the data controller for samplesnap.com. Contact: privacy@samplesnap.com.

• Account: your email address, display name, handle, avatar and any bio or links you add. Sign-in is handled by Clerk, which also records sign-in times and devices for security.
• Purchases and sales: what you bought or sold, when, the price, tax and the Stripe identifiers for the payment. Stripe holds your card details and billing address; we never see your full card number.
• Creator payouts: the details you give us to pay you, and a record of each payout.
• Uploads: the audio you upload, the previews we make from it, and the tags, tempo and key you set.
• Activity: plays, downloads, ratings and comments, and the pages you visit, measured with privacy-respecting analytics without cross-site tracking.
• Support: anything you send us by email.

• To run the Service and deliver what you buy or sell (performance of a contract).
• To pay creators, collect tax and keep accounting records (legal obligation).
• To prevent fraud, abuse and infringement, and to keep the Service secure (legitimate interests).
• To email you receipts, payout notices and important account or policy changes (contract and legal obligation). Marketing email only with your consent, and you can opt out at any time.
• To understand how the Service is used so we can improve it (legitimate interests).

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with the providers that run the Service, each under a data processing agreement:

• Clerk (authentication), Convex (database and backend), Cloudflare (file storage and delivery), Stripe (payments, tax and subscriptions), Vercel (hosting) and our email provider for transactional mail.
• Creators see the handle of buyers who comment or rate; they do not see buyer email addresses or payment details.
• Authorities, where the law requires it, and our professional advisers.

Some providers process data outside the UK and EU. Where they do, transfers rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

• Account data: until you delete your account, then up to 30 days in backups.
• Purchase, sale and payout records: 7 years, as tax and accounting law requires. Buyers keep access to what they bought for as long as their account exists.
• Uploaded audio: until you remove the product, except that files already sold stay available to their buyers.
• Comments and ratings: until removed by you or us.

You can see and edit most of your data from your profile and billing pages. You can delete your account from your account settings, which removes your profile and unsold products; records we must keep by law are retained but no longer linked to a live account.

You also have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or export your personal data, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to withdraw consent. Email privacy@samplesnap.com and we will respond within one month. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you are unhappy with how we handle your data.

We use strictly necessary cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and protect against abuse. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add analytics that need consent, we will ask first.

We will post changes here and, for material changes, tell you by email or a notice on the site before they take effect.
